Marcella Nunez-Smith is a board-certified internal medicine physician and health equity researcher at Yale School of Medicine, where she is Associate Dean for Health Equity Research and the C.N.H. Long Professor of Internal Medicine, Epidemiology, and Public Health. She is the founding director of Yale's Equity Research and Innovation Center. From 2021 she served as Senior Advisor to the White House COVID-19 Response Team and chaired the federal COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force. Originally from the U.S. Virgin Islands, her research addresses healthcare quality and outcomes for structurally marginalized populations.
