Selwyn M. Vickers is a pancreatic cancer surgeon and researcher who serves as the 11th President and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a position he assumed in September 2022. He is the first African American to lead the institution. Before joining MSK he was Senior Vice President for Medicine and Dean of the Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he also served as CEO of the UAB Health System. His research spans pancreatic cancer biology, gene therapy, and cancer health disparities.
