Valerie Montgomery Rice is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist who serves as the sixth president and CEO of Morehouse School of Medicine. She is the first African American woman to lead a freestanding medical school in the United States. She joined Morehouse School of Medicine in 2011 as dean and executive vice president before being named president. Earlier in her career she founded the Center for Women's Health Research at Meharry Medical College.
